This module provides an understanding of research concepts, research methods and designs. It equips you with knowledge and skills for developing a research proposal. The module has two units in total as follows.
Unit 1: Introduces you to what research is, how research is done and how to identify research problem/questions. It describes the concepts that are used in research.
Unit 2: Provides you with knowledge and skills in research designs, research methodologies and proposal writing. It describes the various research designs and research methodologies that are used in research studies and how they differ. It also describes the different data collection methods that are used in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. It also explains how data collected in both qualitative and quantitative studies are analyzed. It also describes the content of a research proposal and how a research proposal is written. It also provides you with knowledge of key ethical issues to consider when you are writing a research proposal.
